1. What we collect
Your account details (name, email, password hash), the content you create (stories, applications, SOQ drafts, Coach conversations), and readable text extracted from resumes or PDFs you choose to upload. Coach PDF binaries are discarded after text extraction. If analytics are enabled, we also collect anonymous product-usage events. We don't buy data about you or track you across other sites.
2. How your content is used
Your stories, drafts, resume, and uploaded document text exist to power your own drafting and coaching. Relevant excerpts are sent to our AI providers (Anthropic for drafting and coaching, OpenAI for search embeddings) solely to generate your results; per those providers' API terms, API data is not used to train their models. We never sell your data or share it with employers.
3. Coach references
The Coach's general hiring knowledge comes exclusively from publicly available CalHR and CalCareers sources. When you start a job-aware chat, Coach can also reference that application, your resume and Stories, and the PDFs you attached to that application or chat.
4. Storage and security
Data is stored with our cloud database provider (Neon, PostgreSQL) with encryption in transit. Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text.
5. Deletion
Deleting your account from Settings permanently removes your stories, applications, drafts, and Coach history from our database. This is immediate and irreversible.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies for sign-in sessions and, when analytics are enabled, a first-party analytics cookie to understand product usage. No advertising cookies.
